The Story

When childhood best friends Eden and Mary are taught they'll become "used pieces of gum" if they engage in premarital sex, the lesson burrows deep into their psyches. At 21 and preparing for Mormon missions, they're seduced by the bishop's son into experimenting with "armpit sex" as a purity loophole.

But their guilt doesn't stay buried. Eden is stalked by a creature in a red sheet—the same sheet from that fateful night. Mary's body begins transforming into something monstrous, her armpit rash growing into grotesque flesh.

To defeat these manifestations of shame, they'll need to confront uncomfortable truths about desire, control, and the price of perfection.

Inspired by a True-ish Story

In 2022, Rolling Stone Magazine published an article stating that supposedly, there are many students at BYU college getting STD's in their armpits. The theory was that these religious students are having armpit sex as a loophole for getting around the whole virginity thing.

So… thus, GUM was born!

In GUM, the bishop's son convinces both the main characters, Eden and Mary, to have armpit sex with him. Afterwards they soon become haunted by their guilt in the form of monsters.

Eden is haunted by a creature wearing a red sheet, the same type of sheet that she did the deed on. Mary develops a major rash in her armpit that begins to grow into something monstrous.

They soon learn some uncomfortable truths that just may be the key to defeating the monsters.

Meet the Cast

Sierra McCormick

as Eden

A quirky and artistic 21-year-old Mormon girl that loves old horror films. She somewhat reluctantly decides to go on a Mormon mission, since her only friend, Mary, is preparing to go on one.

Mary

The perfect Molly Mormon… at least until she becomes psycho… which is often. She is a bubbly and preppy girl, the opposite of Eden in many ways.

Mad Mallory

Eden's eccentric mentor who helps guide the girls through their supernatural ordeal.

David Koechner

as Eden's Dad

Eden's father who becomes uncomfortably fixated on Heather Pierce, a young woman from their ward. His awkward obsessions and misguided parenting create tension in the household.

The Monsters

Eden's Guilt

A creature wearing a red sheet—the same sheet from that fateful night. Haunting and relentless, it represents Eden's inability to escape her shame.

Mary's Transformation

What starts as a rash in Mary's armpit soon grows into something far more monstrous. Her body becomes a battleground between her repression and her desires.
